Hey everyone, Charles here again with some more information (which I hope is helpful) on the console psp.

(Please note this is a review blog – if you are after your own console psp or more official information click here now)

A question that often comes up in a variety of different formats is “which playstation portable psp console is the best”. Now, being completely honest it very much depends what you are after and how you like the design of it.

I think the original sony psp game console still has a lot going for it – it still works very well and is still as powerful as a playstation 2. It has a good screen with good resolution and the controls are pretty easy – although I have never been mad about the thumb stick control. There is a wide variety of games available on disks which load pretty quickly. Whilst newer models are thinner – the design pretty much stays the same. You could perhaps argue that it is not the most portable games console in the world – I mean it will not fit in your pockets – but it will fit in a rucksack or bag very easily indeed. Overall this is a great and established console which will certainly do its job of entertaining you.

(Click here now to see more on the console psp)

The PSP Go is the newest offering from the wizards at Sony. This psp handheld console from a design point of view I think is awesome. It is more like the smart phones you see people using on their commute into work/the matrix. The battery life is certainly much improved on all previous models – you can certainly play for around 5 hours if not more – should satisfy most hard-core gamers. Well, I would hope after 5 hours plus of playing most people would want to do something different!

This portable psp console is most certainly lighter than its predecessors – and you would expect this really given the fact it is download only. I would say it is more comfortable to hold than other models – but that is just me! One of the main issues at the moment is that as it is such a new console the online Playstation store does not have many games currently. I am sure this will change as the inevitable popularity of this console increases. Overall, this is a great console, but perhaps aimed slightly more at more hardcore gamers.

I had been feeling for a while that the PSP overall needed an overhaul – particularly since its original inception the iPhone and other handheld smart phones had been introduced. As you can imagine I was very excited when the psp go was announced.

Hey everyone, Charles here again with another post. This time I thought I would review the new psp console – the PSP go.

(Please note that this is my review of the console – if you are after more official information or want one of your own then click here now )

When I first got my original playstation portable psp console – I loved how “solid” it felt and the thought that had gone into designing it. The only things I did not really like was that the screen is relatively easy to scratch (and so not for kids) and I found the little thumb controller annoying – but that is just me. Also, the battery life was not great.

I had been feeling for a while that the PSP overall needed an overhaul – particularly since its original inception the iPhone and other handheld smart phones had been introduced. As you can imagine I was very excited when the psp go was announced.

The design is simply fantastic – it looks more like the smart phones we are used to seeing now – and can see they could add this functionality if they wish later down the line.

I love the sliding control panel and sharp screen. The thumb controller on the Go is smaller (hooray!) and I have found it to be more accurate too. Another plus is that it is smaller than the original sony psp game console – but as it is download only (i.e no game discs) I would expect that. I also like the fact that you can pause a game and use other functions like watch a video or listen to some music – and go back to the game later on.

This psp games console was only released on 1st October 2009 so there are a few issues I think that Sony need to iron out. The only way to get games is to download them from the online Playstation store. At the moment the content on offer is not brilliant – but I am sure it will grow over time as more and more people buy a psp console.

Also, at the moment there is no way to push the classic games from the classic psp consoles over to the new ‘Go’. From what I have read Sony are planning to do something about this – and we will just have to wait for details.

Overall, a great stylish piece of kit with great battery life that will keep you entertained on the go.

Continuing on where I left off the other day some more of my thoughts and observations on the console psp. I mentioned the other day that I went for the psp console black as my first psp purchase and why I liked it. Whilst there are many different varieties of psp consoles for sale the “classic” psp is still available and very entertaining for all ages. The few things I am not mad about is that the screen is easy to scratch (so you will need to get a case) and as a result this might not be the flavour of psp for young children. That said there are screen guards and shields available.

I had originally planned to make this quite a long post but thought a video reviewing the psp would be helpful at this point.

Discover why an 11-hour flight with an airline with no on-demand entertainment system made me get the portable psp console.

Hey – Charles here and this is my first post on my blog. You are reading my uncensored review of the console psp and what I really think about it.

Please note this post, and this blog is a review so if you are after more official information click here now.

Alrighty then – on with the review.

First a bit of background. I first bought a PSP when I flew to Las Vegas two years ago. Now, there aren’t too many options when you are after a direct flight between London and Vegas – in fact there was only one – Virgin Atlantic. Now, I do like that airline a great deal, it is just flying from Gatwick their planes rarely have a games system, and if they do it is from 1995 and we all know games and game consoles have moved on a fair bit since then! For those of you that do not know, the flight time is around 11 hours, and watching films on a loop (no on-demand system for movies) would have made me go insane! So, I took action and got myself a playstation portable psp console.

Now, you can get many different colours, even a pink psp console, but I went for the psp console black. I also got a few games with it.

During the flight I played it a fair bit and it certainly helped pass quite a few hours I assure you all!

What I liked about it was the high quality graphics – as powerful as a playstation 2, just you can hold it in your hand. I know a few people have complained that games are slow to load, but I really did not experience that at all, a few seconds really and that was all. I am aware that 15 seconds or so can be long for some people but I am fine with it!

Now – what I did not like so much was the controls. I love the joystick control on the playstation 2/3 and am surprised they did not decide to scale it down for the new psp console.

Anyway, that’s it for my first post. The review will continue in the next post which I hope to do soon.
